Present continuous happening now / plan in the near future

Present continuous
Use the Present Continuous with Normal Verbs to express the idea that something is happening now.
Examples:
· You are learning English now.
· You are not swimming now.
· Are you sleeping?
· I am sitting.
· I am not standing.
· Is he sitting or standing?
· They are reading their books.
· They are not watching television.
· What are you doing?
· Why aren't you doing your homework?

USE present continuous to show 'Near Future'
Sometimes, speakers use the Present Continuous to indicate that something will or will not happen in the near future.
Examples:
· I am meeting some friends after work.
· I am not going to the party tonight.
· Is he visiting his parents next weekend?
· Isn't he coming with us tonight?





Write the correct verb ‘tobe’ is, are, am to complete the statements. Then write ‘happening now’ or ‘near future’ on the line.

Example:

Robert is drinking coffee at the moment. happening now

I ____ reading a book. ___________

She ____ buying a new car tonight. ___________

We _____ taking a shower. ___________

The dog ____ eating right now. ___________

Juan ____ meeting Gloria at the Zoo tomorrow ___________

Put the verb in brackets in the correct present continuous form.

Robert _______________________( wear ) blue jeans and black shoes.

Yelitza and Yulia ________________________(dance ) tomorrow night.

I ______________________________(visit ) Alejandra in the afternoon.

Complete the sentences using the present continuous.
